We dearly miss our life in Jakarta and KCV. The best thing about living there was the wonderful community and friendly casual atmosphere. Often the life of an expat, particularly initially, can feel so lonely. I never had that feeling in KCV. Plenty of doors to knock on if you needed a chat or a play date for the children. Things I miss are the pool, particularly on Saturday mornings when you were always guaranteed other families were there with the kids, the fantastic Halloween and Christmas events and my after work massages in the club house.

I will always have special memories of living in Jakarta as it was the birth place of my second son. I remember the first time I took him outside in the compound for a walk and meeting so many people who congratulated me. It felt amazing to have that support and family-like vibe.

One other brilliant thing is of course, the proximity to the 'Hero' supermarket, nail bar, florists and restaurants. Life is made easy, even in a crazy traffic driven city like Jakarta, to walk 3 minutes to the supermarket because you have forgotten to get milk!

Now I have left Jakarta, I can further appreciate how unique and easy a life we really had. We miss our dear friends and KCV greatly.

Our family has been living in Kemang Club Villas since 2007 so I guess that makes us old timers here. The fact that we have been her for over 10 years now should tell you volumes about how we feel about the compound and our lifestyle here.

Jakarta can be a hectic place; with traffic and crowding and people always on the run. What we love about Kemang Club Villas is that we can come home to a quiet, friendly place where we can put aside the hustle and bustle of the day.

The facilities and the open and safe nature of the compound are perfect for us. Management has always been receptive to our needs and when something needs to be fixed, they are right on top of it. Having a grocery store and small restaurants adjacent to the compound is so so convenient.

For people looking to live in a comfortable low-key environment, Kemang Club Villas would be our recommendation.
